Progress on the VLT Adaptive Optics Facility

improve the ensquared energy in the Kband by a factor of two over the 7.5-arcminute field of view of HAWK-I. The four LGS WFSs are mounted on a rotating bearing inside the HawkI hous ing, while a natural guide star tilt sensor picks up a star in a ring outside the Hawk-I field of view. An additional natural guide star WFS is used for calibration and maintenance operations of the deformable secondary mirror (DSM).
