Bounding Rightward Ā-Dependencies

This paper analyzes two sorts of rightward Ā-dependencies, both of which have traditionally been thought to involve ‘movement’, or the association of a gap to an antecedent for the purposes of thematic interpretation. (By thematic interpretation I mean to include both argument and adjunct functions.) The first of these is exemplified in the Extraposition constructions in (1)–(4). The second consists of the constructions in (5).
