Research on the Waveform Characteristics of Restrike Caused by Capacitor Exit

The serious overvoltage phenomenon of restrike caused by capacitor exit will damage the insulation of the circuit breaker and the capacitor, and then affect the safe operation of the power grid. However, the establishment of the characteristics of restrike is still relatively preliminary, and it is difficult to effectively characterize the occurrence of restrike. In this paper, the waveform characteristics of transient voltage and current collected from the system and capacitor neutral point under different operation modes are analyzed, and the transient waveform characteristics of single-phase and inter-phase restrike caused by capacitor exit are established, which provides theoretical basis for the detection and identification of restrike phenomenon. Both theoretical analysis and simulation verify the accuracy of the typical features established in this paper.
