IntheGSM/EDGEmobile communication system, ifthe receiving mobile station direct converts theRFsignal tothe baseband signal, DC offset will begenerated andshould betaken careof.Channel tapsandDC offset canbeestimated jointly based onthetraining sequence codes (TSCs). Thispaper presents theCramer-Rao LowerBound(CRLB) forjointly estimated channel tapsandDC offset based on theTSCsinGSM/EDGEsystem. Itprovides abenchmark against which wecancompare theperformance ofanyunbiased estimator andshows that different TSCsinGSM/EDGE system havedifferent impacts ontheestimation error.
