Cost and Performance of Seed Processing and Bagging Systems as Influenced by Capacity

ABSTRACT WHEN considering the cost of a seed processing and bagging plant, one of the most important design considerations is the quantity of grain to be processed each day. Other factors that significantly affect the economics of the system include the number of days the plant is to be used per year and the number of hours per day that the plant will operate. The relative economic im-portance of these factors can be evaluated by examining a range of values for each factor and the resulting effect on the cost of the system.
