New energy saving multizone alternating-voltage soft starters of induction machines

Widespread thyristor devices used to soft start of alternating voltage motors reduce the starting current by a factor of 2 or 3, but greatly deform its profile and produce an additional reactive component of the current. As a result, the input coefficient of the starting device power decreases and the losses of the motor active power increase. Non-standard approaches to build-up of arrangements of a smooth start of the induction and synchronous motors are considered, allowing to improve quality of starting current of the motor and to reduce or even to come to naught additional consumption of reactive power of a network. Use of rates on thyristor voltage besides, improves. This method is based on the symbiosis of the concepts of the discrete amplitude and the continuous phase or pulse-width regulation. External, energy characteristics and regulation curve of regulators are calculated.
