The Research of the Calculation of Membrane Plus Bending Stress for Perforated Plates

It established two FEM models which are a 3D solid element model and a 2D equivalent solid axisymmetric model,respectively,for the equivalent of the perforated plates of the square penetration pattern.And the maximum membrane plus bending stresses of these two models are calculated by direct FEM calculation and by usage of ASME code which are used for triangle pattern respectively.The comparison of the results shows that the results solved by ASME rules are conservative,and the ASME rules are applicable for perforated plate of square penetration pattern perforated plate.The results provide supporting evidence for the feasibility of ASME evaluation with equivalent models of the perforated plate of the square penetration pattern perforated plate.
