Erratum: Le Canard de Painlevé

In a section of our recent paper [K. U. Kristiansen and S. J. Hogan, SIAM J. Appl. Dyn. Syst., 17 (2018), pp. 859--908], we may have inadvertently given the impression that a rigid rod moving along a rough surface will always stick within a particular neighborhood of a critical point $P$. In fact, the rod will stick only if its initial velocity is small enough. Since the rest of the paper assumed that the rod reaches $P$ with nonzero velocity, none of our conclusions, including our main theorem, is in any way affected.
