Comments on "Choked Gaussian antenna: extremely low sidelobe compact antenna design"

For original paper see J. Teniente et al., ibid., vol.1, p.200-2 (2002). The original paper draws heavily on our work (Granet, C. et al., IEEE Trans. Antennas Propagat., vol.48, p.1125-33, 2000; Bird, T.S. et al., Proc. AP'00 Millennium Conf. Antennas and Propagat., Paper 0085, 2000); our results for the bowl-shaped horn are used as a benchmark for the design process used by Teniente et al. At the outset, we congratulate Jorge Teniente and his co-authors for the excellent results obtained with the choked Gaussian horn. However, some of the comparisons and use of our work are not strictly in context. We address some of the issues raised and comment on the paper. We wish to emphasize that our comments are not a criticism of their work, but are merely a clarification.
