서울메트로 3호선 운행노선에 효율적인 전동차 Wheel Profile에 관한 연구

In Seoulmetro line, coned 1/20 and Heumann wheel profiles have been normally used. And coned 1/20 wheel profile was used in trains of Line 1 as it had better performance in high speed running on straight track with less snake (hunting) motions, and Heumann wheel profile was used in Line 2~4 as it had better effective steering performance in curves. However, in straight section of Ilsan line which is extended section of Line 3, abnormal vibrations caused by snake motions in high speed running of train worsened passenger's comfort and raised the failure rate of components of vehicles. Applying coned 1/20 wheel profile in trains of Ilsan Line which has more curved line than straight line shows no snake motion but causes raise in maintenance cost due to increased flange wear rate. In this study, the characteristics of wheel profiles are compared and S1002 (UIC 510-2) profile are applied to subway trains of Seoulmetro Line 3. As results, good high speed running stability and low flange wear rates are observed in their test running and normal operations. Therefore it can be concluded that the S1002 wheel profile must be a good choice for the good running stability and low flange wear.
