Video Projects to Teach Ethics in an Engineering Curriculum

A video ethics group project is discussed that has been used at two different universities. The project expectations, grading rubrics, and experience with the project over several classes indicates that it is a valuable approach to addressing ethical dilemmas by having the students serve as “teachers”. Sufficient resources (cameras and editing capabilities) are essential to the success of this type project. The LSU Engineering Communications Laboratory provides some essential services that are highly desirable for such a project to be successful.
