Predictive Control of PMSM in Stator Frame under Passivity Constrain

In this paper we discuss a torque control strategy in stator frame for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) based on a non-linear model predictive controller. We introduce a passivity constraint to ensure closed-loop passivity of the control system. The mathematical model of the PMSM is deduced from the Euler-Lagrange (EL) equation by using the expressions of the kinetical and potential energies of the PMSM. We improve the capability of rejecting parameter deviations by including a simple observer in the electrical subsystem. The algorithm is simulated numerically in MATLAB-Simulink.
