The role of software tools in the development of the ECLIPSE® MV/8000 microcode

This paper presents an overview of the software tools used in the development of the microcode for Data General's new 32 bit processor the ECLIPSE MV/8000. Included in this overview is a brief description of each of the tools, and the design philosophies used during their development.
