Shear buckling response of laminated plates

Abstract A theoretical investigation of the initial buckling response of laminated composite plates under uniform shear load is presented. The laminates under consideration are generally layered, thin, flat, rectangular and they are clamped along all four edges. Extensive numerical results highlighting the effect of fibre orientation, lay-up, aspect ratio, number of layers, different material properties and combinations of inplane loading on the buckling response of laminated plates are presented.
