Double Armature a. C. Generator

The possibility of constructing an electrical machine which rotates at twice the speed of the rotating field is described. After a qualitative analysis of the electrical phenomena involved, a description is given of a complete mathematical model which is used to analyze both steady-state and transient behavior. The results of experimental tests are presented, and it is noted that the machine is unstable when used as a motor but is quite stable when used as a generator. >
