A Test to Modified Pinna for Sound Localization

To study the effect of pinna fine structures on the subjective sound localization,a dummy head is made according to the averaged scale of Chinese male.A group of pinna with different fine structures are used in the study.Based on the listening tests with binaural recording,it is found that the fine structure of pinna does affect the subjective localization of a sound source.With different incidence angle,the effect of pinna structure is different,at some angles it blurs the localization perception while at other incidence angles it sharpens the localization perception.
