Simulation of an electro-hydraulic servo system in Simulink and design of a self-tuning PID controller

This paper presents mathematical modelling and simulation of an electro hydraulic servo system. A nonlinear theoretical state space model is introduced to describe the dynamic performance of the servo system. The actual test responses of the analyzed system are compared with the simulation ones from its simulation model. The results verify that the theoretical nonlinear state space model can describe the actual dynamic performance of the analyzed servo system perfectly. On the basis of the simulation model, a self tuning PID controller is designed and tested for the servo system. And its control performance is researched by means of simulation.
