X-ray Crystallographic Computer System DS*SYSTEM2for Some Organic Compounds

Abstract The DIRECT-SEARCHER automatic system version 2 (DS ∗ SYSTEM2) has been developed for the crystal structure analysis of organic compounds running on a personal computer, workstation and mainframe. This system consists of more than 20 crystallographic programs, and is written in full Fortran77. The logical structure of DS su∗ SYSTEM2 is simplified to two layers by using common and independent libraries for easy maintenance and hardware independence. Using DS su∗ SYSTEM2 an organic chemist as well as a crystallographer can get results very easily with their own well-known computer system that matches the demands of the times. The crystal structure analysis of organic compounds has been carried out more than 50 times using the heavy-atom methods and more than 30 times with the direct methods.
