Monolithic CPW-based multiband unconditionally stable common source and common gate mesfet amplifiers at Ka band

The implementation of new monolithic amplifiers at Ka band using a resistive–inductive feedback stabilized transistor is presented. The transistors used are designed to be unconditionally stable over several frequency bands. The design and modeling techniques of the different components of the amplifiers are described. The technique is applied to both MESFET common source and common gate configurations and is implemented in coplanar waveguide (CPW) technology. Good agreement between the theoretical and experimental results is obtained. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
