Advanced methods of producing ferrite memory cores

We must now address ourselves to t.he problem of how to meet memory requirements of higher speed computers. The speed improve- ments made in the 60's can not be duplicated in the 70's. Organiza- tional changes must, be made. More two-dimensional memories will be used because t,he cycle and access times can be improved by a factor of nearly three over three-dimensional memories, and the data rates can be improved by reading out multiple words. Two- dimensional memories are an economical choice due to the lowering costs of electronics and the ease of st,ringing two-dimensional core arrays.
