Development of the selectivity of nitrate sensors based on ion imprinted polymerization technique

The proposed research is related to the real-time detection of nitrate in an aqueous medium. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technique is used which is combined with an interdigital capacitive sensor. A synthesis of Ion Imprinted Polymer (IIP) for nitrate adsorption was explained. Sample nitrate measurement was done by using an imprinted and non-imprinted coating. Sensitivity curve has also presented which shows that the initial results are very encouraging. EIS impedance analyzer is used to support the presented result. The encouraging results highlight the astonishing possibility for developing low-cost, real-time in situ monitoring system for nitrate detection.
