DESIGN NOTE: Optical coating inspection of pharmaceutical tablets by diffractive element

The quality of coating on pharmaceutical tablets was inspected by a computer-generated hologram which was fabricated by an e-beam lithographical technique. An optical sensor for coating inspection of a tablet is proposed. .
