Method of testing a communication network

A method of obtaining information about a communications network comprises: placing at least one network testing device in a coverage area of the network; downloading call criteria to the or each network testing device; determining, in the or each network testing device, based on the downloaded criteria, when calls should be made over the network; initiating the calls over the network; measuring a network quality parameter during the calls; measuring a position of the network testing device at a time of each of the network quality parameter measurements; and transferring the measured network quality parameters and the measured positions to a central data store.
