Healthcare information portal: a web technology for the healthcare community

Abstract Telemedicine technology already provides tremendous social benefits. A comprehensive, Web-based healthcare information portal would be a major further advancement. This article discusses the need for developing such a portal, proposes a framework, and analyses its benefits and challenges.
