A GUI-based simulation platform for energy and comfort management in Zero-Energy Buildings

Zero-Energy Buildings (ZEBs) have recently become a trend for future constructions. It remains challenging to design control systems for such buildings that require energy-efficiency and employ renewable energy. In this paper, we describe a simulation platform that can be used to energy management and comfort improvement in buildings. This platform provides a method to users to manage buildings through Graphical User Interface (GUI). A multi-agent control system is applied to building operation to manage various comfort demands. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is used to optimize the control system to improve users' comfort and save energy.
