Design and realization of the distributed controller for a fixed topology MIMD computer

Some paradigms of the design of a distributed controller for multiple-instruction multiple-data (MIMD) machines have been pointed out, and an asynchronous method for data exchange in a multi-SIMD (single-instruction multiple-data) computer with distributed memory based on data synchronization is addressed, as well as a new implementation method for the exclusive access to a shared resource. A hardware realization of the proposed approach in the binary pyramid SPHINX is given. Limits and possible extensions of the proposed approach are also addressed.<<ETX>>
