Perspective of Sustainable Development in Malaysia

Malaysia is a country which has ratified Kyoto Protocol and has decided to be a developed country by 2020. Therefore, it needs to fulfill the requirements of being a developed country, not only in economic and technology aspect but also in different aspects of sustainable development. Very few studies have been undertaken to show the efforts and initiatives of Malaysia in the realm of sustainability. This study has tried to explore Malaysian efforts and initiatives and find its relevance to sustainability through utilization archival method. It has also proposed a solution to foster the progress towards incorporating sustainability in Malaysia. The result will throw lights for the academicians and policy makers who are working on sustainability topics.
