The invention provides an automatic transformer cooling system with a fault alarming function. The automatic transformer cooling system comprises a main circuit, a control circuit, an emergency standby circuit and a fault alarming device. In the main circuit, a working power supply is successively connected with a first fuse, a first normal open node of a contactor and a cooler. In the control circuit, an automatic switching module is connected with the coil of the contactor in series, and an assembly which is obtained through connecting the automatic switching module and the coil of the contactor in series is connected with two ends of a power supply. In the emergency standby circuit, the working power supply is successively connected with a second fuse, a standby switch and a standby cooler. When the oil temperature of the transformer is higher than a maximal preset temperature H of the system, the standby switch is automatically switched on for starting the standby cooler, and the fault alarm device is energized for alarming. The automatic transformer cooling system can perform real-time controlling for realizing automatic starting and stopping of the cooler, thereby reducing power consumption. Furthermore when a circuit fault of the cooler occurs, the standby cooler can be started and transmits an alarm signal, thereby effectively preventing trip-out stoppage or high-temperature damage of the transformer.
