An FPGA based new single phase five level inverter

This paper gives PWM control of a new Inverter to generate five level output. The new Inverter topology consists of four main switches, one auxiliary switch, eight diodes and two capacitors. A Hybrid PWM technique is implemented to control gating signals to the inverter using an FPGA board. The VHDL code for PWM generation is written in Xilinx software and FPGA Spartan-6 board is used to get hardware output and these results are validated with simulated results.
