This study identifies a damage detection from changed element property in truss structures. For to find displacement variable in two truss structures, this study measures displacement of each element, when external force is applied in a healthy truss structure and a damaged truss structure that is reduced the modulus of elasticity a specific element. The displacements of measured two truss structures are compared and analysed with a program based on genetic algorithm(GA). Through this study, damage location and damage extent are identified. Simple truss structure is modeled as a test sample and compared with damaged truss models decreased the modulus of elasticity in maximum tensile force element and maximum compressive force element. This study is identified the result of expected structure damage location and extend of damaged structure is similar to healthy structure.
