Energy-Aware Clustering in Wireless Sensor Networks

The demand of the WSN in the various areas in increasing very rapidly. The nodes in the WSN are provided with the limited supply of energy. So, the utilization of the energy in the network must be performed efficiently. The protocol proposed in this paper uses the clustering strategy for increasing the lifespan of the system. In this paper a Cluster head selection procedure has been proposed for the proper utilization of the energy. The simulation is performed in the MATLAB simulator. The simulation results show that the proposed approach has enhanced the system lifespan as compared to the existing protocols in terms of various performance factors of the network.
