The Spherical Surface Symmetrical Equal Dividing Angular Quadrature Scheme for Discrete Ordinates Method

A new angular quadrature scheme named Spherical surface Symmetrical equal Dividing (abbreviated to SSD N ) is presented. The evaluations of double moments by SSD N and other traditional quadrature sets show that the new SSD N is able to provide good accuracy and compete well with others (as for example the S N and LS N method). Radiative predictions in a black-walled rectangular enclosure containing absorbing-emitting medium indicate that compared with S N , LS N , T N , and SRAP N , the SSD N can give higher accuracy than S N under some order numbers N
