The authors regret to report that an error in computer programming resulted in errors in Figs. 3–7 and Tables 2–4. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. Overview: Following the original publication we realized there are two coding errors in our computer code, which affect prediction of the tissue evolution pathway and the final state of tissue type. In this document we describe the errors; the formulation that was used to calculate interstitial flow velocity; and, the minor changes in the overall conclusions of the paper. Updated tables and redrawn figures are provided in the supplementary materials. Flow velocity calculation: Darcy's law governs the flow through a porous solid medium. The flow velocity v ! is proportional to pressure gradient as follows (Bear, 2013),
