Integral Decision Support for Asset Management of Electrical Infrastructures

The deregulation of power market has, in industrialized countries, led to an increasing interest in power system optimisation and a focusing on customer demands. Minimizing the required manpower input and automating maintenance schedules will be essential implications to the future asset management policy. For this scenario an integral decision support system for the asset manager of electrical infrastructures has been developed. It consists of a model, based on an interactive template, that provides support in profiling the asset owners' demands, and in assessment of technical, economical and societal status of the assets. Furthermore the model helps out in the selection of integrated analytical tools to model the effects on, and the interaction between: reliability and availability, spare part provision, maintenance activities and intervals, operational load, condition assessment, remaining technical lifetime and benefits and costs.
