New Ferroelectric Materials on the Basis of (1−x)PbSc 1/2 Nb 1/2 O 3 -xPbTm 1/2 Nb 1/2 O 3

Original compound PbTm 1/2 Nb 1/2 O 3 (PTmN) and binary solid solution system (1-x)PbSc 1/2 Nb 1/2 O 3 – xPbTm 1/2 Nb 1/2 O 3 (PSN – PTmN) have been produced. Powders of PTmN and solid solutions were synthesized by solid state reactions. Ceramic samples were produced by hot pressing. Pure PTmN and solid solutions rich in it (x = 0.7–1.0) have a pseudomonoclinic distortion of the cubic cell; the phase transition is sharp and does not depend on frequency. Solid solutions x = 0–0.6 have a rhombohedral structure; broadening of phase transition and dielectric dispersion, characteristic features of ferroelectric relaxors are observed.
