The invention discloses a system for feeding bars to a cooling bed at a high speed in a short distance. The system comprises a tail pulling mechanism, a speed increasing mechanism, a braking mechanism and an automatic control system, wherein the tail pulling mechanism comprises a tail lifting device, a tail pulling device and a tail stopping device; the tail lifting device is arranged on an input roller table between a multiple-length flying shear and the cooling bed; a tail clamping brake roller, a clamping and feeding roller and a tail clamping braking plate are arranged on the input roller table and the braking plate; the input roller table, the clamping and the feeding roller and a special braking plate form the speed increasing mechanism; the tail clamping braking roller and the tail clamping braking plate on a correcting plate form the braking mechanism; and control parts of the tail pulling mechanism, the speed increasing mechanism and the braking mechanism are respectively connected into the automatic control system, and thus automatic control of the speed increasing mechanism, the tail pulling mechanism and the braking mechanism is realized. According to the system, the final rolling speed of line rolling of a bar production line with only 25-meter distance for feeding on the cooling bed reaches over 15 m/s and the stability in operation is realized; and in addition, the control over the parking position of a multiple-length steel bar on the cooling bed is convenient and flexible and the production capacity of the rolling line is greatly improved.
