A NUMERICAL METHOD FOR CALCULATION OF PROBABILITY DENSITY FUNCTION OF EQUIVALENT LEVEL IN THE CASE OF TRAFFIC NOISE

Abstract In this paper a new method for estimating the probability density function of traffic noise is proposed. The method is based on the hypothesis of the normality of emitted noise by each single noise source as well as the distribution of traffic flow which depends upon the type of the traffic. The effect of observation time in the measured and predicted density is also examined. The validity of the method has been compared with experimentally measured densities.
