This paper presents a multibody vehicle dynamic modeling and simulation results to analyze the effects of friction in steering system on On-Center handling characteristics. ADAMS/Car is used to model a full vehicle model of a passenger car. The rack and steering column friction is modeled by using Dahl friction model instead of coulomb friction model. The simulation results show the Dahl friction model in effective to model the friction in the steering system.
