Multilayer perceptrons and data analysis

Results are presented which permit comparison of classification tasks of multilayer perceptrons with discriminant analysis. The results are illustrated with simulations of both approaches that demonstrate that multilayer perceptrons with nonlinear elements outperform discriminant analysis.<<ETX>>
