First total synthesis of (±)‐(1E,3E,11E)‐cembra‐1,3,11‐trien‐6‐one

(±)-(1E,3E,11E)-Cembra-1,3,11-trien-6-one, an important marine cembrane ketone isolated from Eunicea calyculata, was first synthesized in 12 steps starting from citronellal.
