Slanted-streamer Data-adaptive Deghosting with Local Plane Waves

We demonstrate a new algorithm for deghosting data that consistently handles 3D wave propagation, but can work on a single-streamer of recorded data. The algorithm works by performing a sparse decomposition in the local plane-wave domain, and parameterizing the ghost operator as a time delay in that domain. The effect of a variable-depth streamer with locally constant dip can be included as a shift in the inline ray parameter direction by an amount that depends on the time-delay parameter. Results on synthetic and field data show the adaptivity increases the stability of the deghosting process.
