This paper appears the principle of the permanent magnetic actuator (PMA) in vacuum circuit breaker and its dynamic behavior calculation. Vacuum circuit breaker has needed to obtain a high level of performance, reliability and safety. The great advantages of the PMA are satisfied for vacuum circuit breaker and it is represented recently a great attention from engineers all over the world. Some results of the analysis of the dynamic behavior, displacement, velocity of the moving parts, and the current supplied in the coils. The magnetic field and force of the actuator are presented using finite element method and calculation parameters. Vacuum interrupter puts special demands on the operating mechanism, such as a large holding force and impact breaking capacity. In this paper, optimization of the opening and closing operation are showed, and new designed permanent magnetic actuator for medium voltage as well as high voltage circuit breaker.
