Problems and Prospects for Computer Vision

Recent advances in techniques of image processing and image understanding, allied with rapid advances in sensor technology and parallel architectures, are making visually-guided processing and control an increasingly realistic and attractive option for industry. This lecture presents an overview of the current state of computer vision, and an assessment of how well current techniques work in practice.
