Telecineangiography: a case study with client-server environments and ATM backbones

This paper reports a case study for the integration of cineangiography facilities within broadband telemedicine environments. A functional overview of the locally networked client-server based multimedia front-ends and the corresponding attachment to ATM backbones will be presented. The major outcomes associated with validation trials will be discussed with emphasis on the quality of the transmitted cardiovascular video, interacting facilities and the overall implications on the networking support.
