RAPID COMMUNICATION: The role of the absorption length of photoionizing radiation in streamer dynamics in weak fields: a characteristic scale of ionization domain

We assume that the fundamental space scale of the streamer in air, the width of the ionization domain, is defined by the length of the absorption of photoionizing radiation. It is shown that this assumption is consistent with data, available in the literature, on numerical modelling of streamers in weak fields in air, as well as with recent experimental observations.
