An Analysis of Passive Earth Pressure of Retaining Wall Based on Energy Theory

According to the energy theory,the formula for the passive earth pressure of retaining wall is derived,and the calculation method for the rupture angle is discussed.Comparing with the traditional Rankine's earth pressure theory and the Coulomb's earth pressure theory,this method is applicable within a broader scope,and the results conform better to reality.
