New quasi-resonant inverter for induction heating

A new quasi-resonant inverter for an induction heating apparatus including a matching transformer is proposed. This inverter has a characteristic that the power source is separated from the resonant circuit during the resonant capacitor being discharged and a DC blocking capacitor is connected in series to the load. As a result, the inverter outputs alternating current with soft switching at any frequency. Further, the operating frequency and the output current are controllable by means of varying the oscillation cycle and initial current to the resonant inductor.<<ETX>>
