Cutis verticis gyrata como manifestación clínica de paquidermoperiostosis Cutis Verticis Gyrata as a Clinical Manifestation of Pachydermoperiostosis

Summary Pachydermoperiostosis is a rare osteo-cutaneous disease characterized by hypertrophy of bones and surrounding soft tissues which can be manifested as cutis verticis gyrata. Cutis verticis gyrata is a descriptive term for a condition of the scalp in which deep furrows and convolutions are seen that resembles the surface of the cerebrum. The etiology is diverse since different collections of cell types may be responsible for the outward convoluted appearance and may range from inflammatory or hamartomatous infiltrations to neoplastic proliferations. We present a patient with cutis verticis gyrata secondary to pachydermoperiostosis.
