Conditions for start-up in crystal oscillators

The influence of parasitic elements on crystal oscillator start-up is examined. Both theoretical analysis and computer simulation are used to identify circuit parameters affecting oscillator start-up and methods of ensuring reliable operation are indicated. The results are verified by experimental measurements.
