ON SOME NUMERICAL METHODS FOR OPTIMAL POWER-FLOWS IN ELECTRICAL NETWORKS

Abstract Some methods and algorithms proposed in the last years to solve optimization i problems in electrical power systems are analysed. Both decomposition methods and global methods are considered; the global methods include both methods with an elimination procedure and methods without any elimination. The main aim of the paper is to try to obtain as many as possible indications about the rigorouness and robustness of the analysed methods and algorithms, without forgetting other features, as computational speed and memory requirements.
